We’re hiring for multiple part-time positions including hosts, servers, bartenders, and bussers. Whether you're an experienced hospitality professional or just starting out and eager to learn, we offer a supportive, team-focused work environment where great service and warm hospitality are our top priorities.

  • Previous restaurant experience is a plus, but not required for all roles — we’re happy to train the right candidates

Positions Available:
  • Hosts: Welcome guests, manage reservations, and set the tone for great service
  • Servers: Provide an exceptional dining experience with menu knowledge and attentive service
  • Bartenders: Mix craft cocktails, pour wine & beer, and create a welcoming bar atmosphere
  • Bussers: Support the FOH team by clearing tables, resetting for guests, and assisting with cleanliness and flow

NOW HIRING: FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME KITCHEN STAFF

L.May Eatery, an independently run upscale bistro in Dubuque, Iowa, is seeking dedicated and passionate kitchen staff to join our team. We are open to hiring one full-time team member or a few part-time individuals who are eager to work in a fast-paced, creative, and team-oriented kitchen.

Our menu features small plates, gourmet pizzas, house-made pastas, locally sourced meats and seafood, and from-scratch desserts. We focus on seasonal and trend-forward offerings, including gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan dishes, and work closely with local producers whenever possible.

This is a great opportunity to develop your culinary skills, contribute creative ideas, and work with a talented and passionate team. You'll be part of an evolving kitchen with rotating seasonal menus and nightly features.

Hours:
  • Full-Time: Thursday–Monday (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
    • Prep during the day
    • Service hours: 4:30pm–9:30pm
    • No super late nights!
  • Part-Time: Flexible evening and weekend shifts available
Pay:
  • Based on experience; to be discussed during the interview.

Typical Kitchen Duties Include:
  • Working a kitchen station during service (stations rotate: sauté, pizza, salads/appetizers, desserts)
  • Preparing food to meet guest expectations in a timely and consistent manner
  • Following food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assisting with inventory management and maintaining high-quality standards for ingredients
  • Supporting opening/closing duties and other side work as directed
  • For full-time or more experienced staff: participation in seasonal menu planning and daily feature creation
